What’s In Scott & Jon’s Tuna Noodle Casserole

Per the official PR Newswire release from Scott & Jon’s, the frozen meal marks the brand’s first tuna offering after building its seafood lineup around shrimp, salmon and white fish.

  • Al dente egg noodles, chunk light tuna and crisp-tender peas in a sauce made with real milk, cream and cheddar cheese, topped with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  • 21g of protein and 3g of fiber per meal, all under 500 calories.
  • Cooks in about four minutes.

“Tuna noodle casserole is one of those meals that immediately feels familiar. It’s the kind of comfort food many of us grew up eating,” said Jon Demers, co-founder and co-CEO of Scott & Jon’s, in the release. The company says a blind taste test among 103 consumers found its recipe preferred 2-to-1 over a leading competing brand, scoring higher on tuna flavor, pasta flavor, sauce flavor and seasoning.

The launch leans on a broader comfort-food trend: the National Restaurant Association named comfort foods the No. 2 overall trend in its 2026 What’s Hot Culinary Forecast, with chief economist Dr. Chad Moutray noting that “comfort and value are the twin pillars shaping America’s menus right now.”

Does This Affect a Recipe You’re Planning to Make?

If you already make your own skillet version at home, our Swim Queso Chicken and Rice (Viral One-Pan Casserole) and Cottage Cheese Alfredo recipes use a similar creamy, high-protein approach to weeknight comfort food if you’d rather build the dish from scratch than reach for the freezer aisle.

Quick Questions

  • How long does it take to cook? About four minutes in the microwave.
  • How much protein does it have? 21 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per meal, under 500 calories.

Is This Common?

A frozen-food brand expanding into a new protein within an existing comfort-food lineup is a routine category move, but a first-ever tuna product backed by a named, numbered blind taste test (103 consumers, 2-to-1 preference) against a named “leading brand” is a more substantiated claim than most launch press releases make. The underlying methodology of that test was not published alongside the release.
