GF Blends Recalls Truly AIP Flour, Bread Mix & Pizza Mix Over Undeclared Wheat Gluten

GF Blends issued the GF Blends Truly AIP recall on September 18, 2026, pulling Truly AIP flour, bread mix, and EAT G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. pizza mix nationwide after testing found undeclared wheat gluten in a plantain flour ingredient certified gluten-free. No illnesses have been reported. Consumers with celiac disease or wheat gluten intolerance should not eat these products.

What FDA and GF Blends Announced

GF Blends posted a company announcement through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on September 18, 2026, recalling Truly AIP All Purpose Flour, Truly AIP Bread Mix, and EAT G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. Flat Bread Pizza Mix. FDA states the products were manufactured using plantain flour supplied by PMF Global, which was labeled and certified as gluten free. Independent third-party testing found that the plantain flour ingredient contained gluten, and the recalled products all tested at levels significantly exceeding the FDA’s 20 ppm threshold for gluten-free labeling, meaning the products contain undeclared wheat gluten. GF Blends says it will conduct further testing to confirm the presence of wheat gluten.

The recall covers six lot/date combinations across three products:

  • Truly AIP All Purpose Flour, 15.3 oz — Lot 260225, best-by 2-25-28
  • Truly AIP All Purpose Flour, 15.3 oz — Lot 260610, best-by 6-10-28
  • Truly AIP Bread Mix, 14 oz — Lot 260417, best-by 4-17-28
  • Truly AIP Bread Mix, 14 oz — Lot 260617, best-by 12-17-27
  • EAT G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. Flat Bread Pizza Mix, 163 g & 3.98 lb — Lot 260327, best-by 9-27-27 & 7-27-27
  • EAT G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. Flat Bread Pizza Mix, 163 g — Lot 260803, best-by 2-03-28

FDA and GF Blends state the affected products were distributed nationwide to retail and online customers through eatgangster.com, trulyaip.com, and Amazon.com, with distribution continuing through September 12, 2026. GF Blends says it has not received any reports of adverse health effects as of the recall. The company has notified affected customers by email and phone and is arranging replacement of recalled products. Consumers who have celiac disease or a severe wheat gluten intolerance should not consume the recalled products; FDA and GF Blends instruct consumers to return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund or to discard them. Consumers with questions can reach GF Blends at 509-375-0909, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time, or by email at recall@gfblends.com. FDA’s notice does not list a formal recall classification (Class I, II, or III) for this company-announced allergen recall.

This is a different company and product line from the Momchipz Veggie Chips recall covered previously on this site, which also involved undeclared wheat but in a different product and from a different manufacturer (Exotique Foods Inc.). The two recalls are not related.

Truly AIP All Purpose Flour is sold in a 15.3 oz package under the Truly AIP brand; the recalled Truly AIP Bread Mix comes in a 14 oz package, and the EAT G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. Flat Bread Pizza Mix is sold in 163 g and 3.98 lb sizes. Lot numbers and best-by dates are printed on the package and are listed above; consumers should check their packages against these lot numbers rather than relying on appearance alone, since packaging design can look similar across different production lots.

Is This Common?

Allergen mislabeling tied to a raw ingredient rather than the finished product’s own recipe is a recurring cause of food recalls. In this case, GF Blends says the plantain flour it purchased from a supplier, PMF Global, was certified gluten free but tested positive for gluten at levels above FDA’s allowed threshold once GF Blends ran independent testing. This mirrors a pattern seen in other 2026 recalls where a single contaminated raw ingredient supplied to a manufacturer led to a downstream recall of multiple finished products, rather than a problem introduced during the recalling company’s own production.
